A Place to Reflect, To Remember.

No visit to New York should be made without honouring those who paid with their life to try and protect it and the people they shared it with. It has affected everyone who lives in this city and all New Yorkers are keen to remind everyone never to forget what happened that day. I know its a sombre post but i can remember that day so clearly. I would definitely check out the 9/11 Memorials if you visit NYC.

Around the edge of the two fountains, which are the footprints of where each tower stood, are the names of everyone who lost their life that day. The scale of the names is massive, it really brings home the loss of life.
 The South Pool
 The North Pool
I believe this tree stood on the original WTC Site, the only one that survived to stand on the site today.
The water cascading was beautiful. Everything was calm and quiet. All you could hear was the water falling.

Around the cities there are memorials outside the Fire and NYPD stations - each commemorating those that were lost that day. This Fire Station was literally next to the WTC - these men would have been the first to reach the towers and they lost a lot of friends.

St Paul's Chapel remained unharmed as the towers fell, even though its located very close to the site. Many or the rescue workers and families came to the Chapel to remember and find some peace from the chaos outside. It honours this inside the church and i think it looked beautifully peaceful with the sun cascading through the trees.

Don't ever forget x
